  1. Another heartfelt blog with a yummy sounding treat. Next time I visit, I’d like to try the chocolate ice-cream, cupcakes and…. :-)

  2. This sounds wonderful and I was thinking of making it tonight – but, then I realized I had a question. For the cake you say 2 sticks of butter is 16oz., I think it should be 8oz. ?!? I’m really looking forward to trying this recipe! Thanks!

    • Anita, thank you so much for pointing out my mistake! You are right, it is 8 ounces total for the two sticks. My error came when I was thinking 16 Tablespoons… (That’s what I get for writing a recipe at midnight!) I am correcting it now. I can’t wait to hear what you think if you make them!

      • Karen, thanks for clarifying. I did make the cake and frosting. It is a very delicious cake, it is moist and has a nice texture! I had never made a cooked frosting before. I think I’m more of a butter cream fan, but did enjoy trying your cooked frosting and will keep it in mind for the summer. I have definitely had issues with butter cream when the weather is hot.

    • Thanks so much, Jammie! I use a Cannon Rebel 3Ti that I bought last year. I try to take pictures in daylight hours, and that really makes all the difference. It’s also learning how to use the manual settings on the camera, instead of the auto function. I just keep experimenting, and for every photo you see on the blog, there are probably 100 that didn’t make the cut!
