  1. I remember wishing I could make that easier for you and knowing no one could. Thinking maybe I can justify us eating dessert first if we do the yogurt thing. Thinking of you!

    • Thanks, Amanda. In those early days and months there’s nothing that anybody can do, but knowing friends are there makes all the difference. I’ll always be grateful for that support. And yes, I think there are a million ways to justify dessert first, and yogurt is just one of them!

  2. Karen,
You never cease to amaze me. This blog is as wonderful as YOU are. I loved the story of your Dad. Good idea, “Eat dessert First.” Tears streaming down my face as I think of how LUCKY the world is to have people like YOU. Thankful you are laughing with your husband, dancing, reading and cooking with your children and letting me into your world… one pear slice at a time.
    One word.. Thankful

    • Thank you, Cathy. Your words mean everything to me. I’m fortunate for so many reasons, and one of the most important is having people like you in my life. You’ve taught me so much, and helped me get to where I am today. I am glad I can share my stories with you in this way, and hope you continue to get something out of it as this journey goes on.

  3. Karen,
Thank you for sharing about your father. He seemed like the kind of person that people would just feel comfortable being around. You share that same quality. I’m so glad to know you. Wishing you a holiday filled with much sweetness and joy.

    • Thank you so much, Barbara. That means so much to me. I feel the same way about you, and wish you the best at the holidays too.:-)
